As winter ends warm and sunny across the Inland Northwest come to an end along with it

Highs will top out in the 60s and low 70s again Tuesday, as spring settles in across the region.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Two 70-degree days in a row! Monday's high of 70 degrees marks the second time we've hit the 70 degree mark this year, and another record high for Spokane. It looks like we get one more day of this warmth before it all starts changing.

Tuesday, the first day of spring, is our last day of temperatures almost 20 degrees above the seasonal norms. The warm, sunny stretch comes to an end Wednesday as clouds build back in ahead of a massive pattern change. An atmospheric trough and incoming storm will bring a return of near normal temperatures and rain, which will feel like a slap in the face after the past few days of warmth.

Clouds build Wednesday, dropping our highs by about 10 degrees from the past couple days. A high near 60 will soon feel warm. High fall into the 50s as the chance of rain moves back in. By the weekend its 40s and rain down low, snow in the mountains. It's March after all, a month known for its major swings.

Spring begins tomorrow! While the day marks the start of spring, the spring equinox officially occurs at 8:06 pm Pacific Time..
