SPOKANE, Wash. — The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) announced Monday that KREM 2 received two regional awards for our coverage of several different local news stories.
Regional winners are then considered for awards at the national level, which will be announced sometime in the summer.

'We go where we are needed' | New documents reveal Patriot Front's plans to riot during downtown Coeur d'Alene pride event

KREM 2 investigators wanted to know what police learned about white nationalist group Patriot Front's coordinated presence in Coeur d'Alene last year and what they were planning to do. After multiple requests, KREM 2 received a redacted copy of those plans from the Kootenai County Clerk's Office.

Seattle's tiny home villages pose as a potential solution to Spokane's homeless crisis

During KREM 2's visit in Seattle last year, we spoke with multiple people who are currently experiencing homelessness. Like in Spokane, many are camped out on DOT property alongside the freeway.
Some of the people we spoke with told us that if given a choice between staying in a nearby homeless shelter or spending their nights in a tent, they will choose the tent.
As Spokane continued to look for solutions to the growing homeless crisis, a tiny homes program in Seattle is proving to be successful in moving those experiencing homelessness off the streets.

Timeline | Here's what police believe happened on the night of the Moscow murders

In a newly unsealed affidavit, investigators shared a timeline of what they believe happened on the night of the University of Idaho student murders.
The suspected killer, 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger, is currently in custody at the Latah County Jail. He was arrested in connection with the murders on Dec. 30 in Pennsylvania.
Since the night of the murders, police have worked to establish a timeline of the events that occurred between 9 p.m. on Nov. 12 and the morning on Nov. 13. With the release of the affidavit, investigators shared what they believe happened.
