SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga women's basketball won 64-44 on Saturday against San Francisco inside the War Memorial Gymnasium.
After falling down 11-2 early, Gonzaga set the tone with its defense for the rest of the game. The Bulldogs held San Francisco to just 31 percent shooting on the Dons Senior Night.
The Zags captured t he lead early in the second quarter and never let it go. The Dons kept it close, as early in the fourth quarter it was only a six point game However, the Zags closed the game out on a 21-7 run to shut the door for good.
Zags guard Chandler Smith led the way for the Zags with 14 points.
The Bulldogs improve to 25-2 on the season and remain a game up on BYU in the West Coast Conference standings.
Gonzaga's next game is at home against Pepperdine on February 28.
