Spokane gas prices are down 40 cents from a month ago

Despite prices being lower than a month ago, Spokane gas prices are also 1.7 cents higher per gallon than one year ago.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gas prices in Spokane are 40 cents lower per gallon than a month ago, according to a new survey from GasBuddy

Despite prices being lower than a month ago, Spokane gas prices are also 1.7 cents higher per gallon than one year ago.

The cheapest gas station in Spokane as of Jan. 8th is priced at $3.27 per gallon, with the highest price being $3.99 per gallon.

In Washington state, the lowest gas price on Sunday was $2.92 while the highest was $5.09 per gallon.

Nationwide gas prices have risen more than 8 cents per gallon in the last week, with an average of $3.25 per gallon.

"Last week, the rise in gasoline prices continued, still due to previous refinery outages caused by the cold weather the week of Christmas. However, I'm optimistic that as refiners get back online, we could see the increases slow down as we head into the time of year when gasoline demand is at its weakest," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
