'We're from Spokane and we think you're fake': Gonzaga staff visit Jimmy Kimmel set

Gonzaga University staff members visited the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! And yes, these staff members were actually real this time.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga University staff members visited the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night amid speculation that the school is a hoax.

Mark Livingston from Gonzaga Radio and TV, Athletics Director of Fundraising Josh Cox, and Gonzaga play-by-play announcer Tom Hudson all appeared on the show.

Kimmel showed the men sitting alongside the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Spiderman.

"If Gonzaga is real, why does it sound so fake?" Kimmel said.

Livingston had a response to that question.

"We're from Spokane we think you're fake. Matt Damon's fake. Everything in Hollywood is fake, man. Nothing's real."

Kimmel's response: Still not buying it.

"You should change your mascot from the Bulldogs to the catfish," he added.

Kimmel also referenced Guillermo Rodriguez’s locker room interview with the Gonzaga men’s basketball team on Wednesday. He said the full results of his “investigative report” will appear on Thursday night’s show after Gonzaga plays in the Sweet 16.

KREM Sports Director Brenna Greene caught up with Rodriguez on Wednesday after he spoke with some of the basketball players.

Greene asked him if he had any results into his Gonzaga investigation.

"I really don't have an answer, you know," he said. "When I have an answer I will let you guys know."

He did say he found the Gonzaga players' arguments a little convincing that Gonzaga "might" be real.

"One of them told me Gonzaga has been there more than 100 years. I don't know if it's true or not, but it sounds like it might be true," Rodriguez said.

He did wish Gonzaga luck on their game on Thursday.

"I hope they win and can play on Saturday," he said. "Gonzaga!"

Guillermo wants the team to be on the show if they win the national championship to prove to everyone that Gonzaga exists.
