Gonzaga lands Patriot League Player of the Year Braeden Smith

Smith, a Seattle native, averaged 12.5 points. 5.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game while playing for the Colgate Raiders.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Patriot League Player of the Year, Braeden Smith, is headed to Spokane to join the Gonzaga men's basketball team. 

Smith, a Seattle native, averaged 12.5 points. 5.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game while playing for the Colgate Raiders.

Alongside Smith, the Zags recently added Tarleton State transfer Emmanuel Innocenti and Khalif Battle from Arkansas to the roster. 

Gonzaga will return six of their seven role players from last season, where they made a run into the NCAA Tournament after being eliminated by Purdue in the Sweet 16. 

Head coach Mark Few will stay busy this summer. He's been named to the Team USA coaching staff for the 2024 Olympic Games.
