'Families Belong Together' rallies planned around the Inland Northwest

People across the country will protest the Trump Administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy on Saturday. More than 600 rallies are planned across the country, including several rallies in the Inland Northwest

SPOKANE, Wash. -- People across the country will protest the Trump Administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy on Saturday. More than 600 rallies are planned across the country, including several rallies in the Inland Northwest.

The "Families Belong Together" protests are led by Representative Pramila Jayapal, D-WA. On Thursday, Jayapal was arrested at a "mass civil disobedience" event in Washington D.C.to protest President Donald Trump's immigration policies.

The "zero tolerance" policy has sparked a widespread debate after more than 2,000 children were separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump signed an executive order last week halting the separation. Washington was one of 17 states to sue the Trump administration over the separations.

Here is a list of local rallies:

• Spokane - Grant Park - Saturday, June 30 at 1 p.m.

• Coeur d'Alene - Picnic Shelter in Riverstone Park - Saturday, June 30 at 4 p.m.

• Sandpoint - Bonner County Courthouse - Saturday, June 30 at 1 p.m.
