'Last Dunk before the Hunk': Woman celebrates bachelorette weekend playing Hoopfest

Janelle LeMeux and her bachelorette party cohorts decided to celebrate in a different way, by playing in Hoopfest 2019.

This group of girls didn't quite get the results they wanted this weekend, but they are planning a much bigger celebration in the coming month.

'Last Dunk before the Hunk' is an adult women's team playing in Hoopfest this year, and for one team member, it's serving as a part of her bachelorette weekend.

"We slam dunk all the time, so last dunk," Janelle LeMeux, who is getting married on July 20, said.

The plan came together spontaneously, she said.

"It all just kind of came together with breakfast," Lemeux said. "Twenty days now, 20 days now."

So, Lemeux and her bridesmaids' threw the idea around and came up with a name, said bridesmaid Sasha Dini.

"It was kind of a collaborative. We really threw a lot of things around, quite a bit," Dini said.

Their decision paid off, even if they don't consider themselves basketball professionals by trade, Dini said they love basketball, so it was a great way to spend time before the big day

"We love playing basketball. It was a really good time, I thought it was a very unique bachelorette [weekend]," Dini said.

At the end of the weekend, the group is just happy they got to play ball, and that they made it through the weekend, according to bridesmaid Rochelle Miller.

"We survived three days, so we're breathing, recovering, hydrating," Miller said.
