NCAA Tournament: No. 7 WSU men face off against No. 10 Drake in first-round matchup

WSU has not made it to the NCAA Tournament in 16 years, with their last appearance taking place in 2008.

PULLMAN, Wash. — After overperforming during the regular season and coming up short of winning the Pac-12 championship, the Washington State University men's basketball team has earned the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament. 

The Cougs will face off against No. 10 seed Drake on Thursday, March 21, at 7:05 p.m. PST in Omaha, NE. The game will air live on TruTV. 

WSU is heading into the NCAA Tournament with a 24-9 overall record, winning 14 of their 20 conference games. Head coach Kyle Smith was named the Pac-12 John R. Wooden Coach of the Year, and redshirt freshman Myles Rice was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.

The first-round games of the NCAA Tournament will take place on March 21 and 22, with the second-round games on March 23 and 24.
