CHENEY, Wash. — Head coach Dan Monson secures another player in the off season for his now Eastern Washington Eagles.

The Eags' announced Shaumba Ngoyi will be following his former head coach to Cheney from Long Beach State University.

The 6'9" forward from Kinshasha, Dominican Republic Congo was redshirted his freshman year due to a preseason knee injury. Ngoyi has yet to play any minutes in his collegiate career.

Eastern recently announced the addition of two new coaches to their staff: Ryan Lundgren and Larry Anderson.

Lundgren will step in as the associate head coach beside Monson. Lundgren was the head coach at Carroll College in the 2023-24 season.

Anderson will be following Monson from Long Beach State to join the Eagles as an assistant coach.

The Eagles also announced that assistant coach Ben Beauchamp will be staying in Cheney after coaching under former head coach David Riley for three years.

While Ngoyi will be in a new city and wearing new colors, he has two familiar faces on the coaching staff.
