The 6'4, 320 pound senior became only the 10th interior lineman to earn the award since 1974, and only the second to win the award since 1997.

CHENEY, Wash. — EWU defensive lineman Jay-Tee Tiuli became the fourth Eagle to ever earn Big Sky Defensive MVP on Tuesday, while a plethora of his other teammates were honored by the conference.

"The league has spoken by naming him as the defensive MVP, and they certainly saw what we see every day at practice," Aaron Best said. "Congratulations goes to him, as well as his teammates because he makes a ton of those players on that side of the ball better."

The 6'4, 320 pound senior became only the 10th interior lineman to earn the award since 1974, and only the second to win the award since 1997.

"It's hard to do but it's well-earned," said Best. "He's a player we count on- he's our bell-cow. It shows his versatility in not only stopping the run, but also getting to the quarterback."

Joining Tiuli on the All-Big Sky First Team are wide receiver Nsimba Webster, defensive end and Cheney native Keenan Williams, and kicker Roldan Alcobendas. All 10 Eagle offensive and defensive lineman received All-Big Sky honors.

"We're very proud of these players, and it is very team driven," said Best. "When you do well as a team on a particular side of the ball it's noticed by the league's coaches. We had an outstanding season on all three phases- offense, defense, and special teams= and the all-league team reflects that."
