Major Crimes looking at several possible leads after body found near Mead HS

The Mead school District opened two hours late on Tuesday due to a death investigation.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Major Crimes detectives are looking at several possible leads after a body was found in north Spokane County on Tuesday morning.

Spokane County Sheriff's Cpl. Mark Gregory said none of the leads have been confirmed or are ready to be released to the public. He added that investigators barely have any evidence to work with at this point. 

An AMR Ambulance crew discovered the body on Farwell Road, east of Pittsburgh Strret, at about 3:40 a.m, according to Gregory. 

Roads were closed for several hours but reopened at about 9 a.m. 

The Mead School District opened two hours late on Tuesday due to the investigation. 

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who observed anything suspicious to call crime check at 509-456-2233, reference case number #10031924.
