STCU offering to help local families complete FAFSA

The credit union is offering another after-hours assistance program in Eastern Washington and North Idaho branches after launching the pilot program in 2023.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Teacher's Credit Union (STCU) is extending a lending hand to local area high school students who want to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The credit union is offering another after-hours assistance program in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho branches after launching the pilot program in 2023.

According to STCU, Washington ranks as one of the lowest states to complete to complete the FAFSA. The credit union is partnering with LaunchNW Foundation to help raise the bar for area students and their future.

“There so many expectations for families with a graduating senior, and completing the FAFSA is one that can seem intimidating,” said Melody Somday, Community Branch Manager in Republic. “We hear from families that it’s a relief to have someone help them through the process.”

Below is the list of after-hours assistance events taking place throughout Washington and North Idaho. All events will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the STCU branch in each city:
