SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Velocity FC scored their first win at home with a 2-1 victory.
The Velocity FC faced off against the Richmond Kickers for their first-ever match at ONE Spokane Stadium. The sold-out game brought out fans from across the region.
This marks the first win in franchise history.
Defender Romain Métanire scored the first-ever goal for Velocity FC three minutes into the match. Defender Ahmed Longmire scored the second goal 11 minutes after the first, bringing the Velocity up to an early lead.
The Velocity FC will face the Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC next. That match is scheduled for March 23, 2024.
Prior to that, they will face Ballard in a U.S. Open Cup match on Wednesday night.
