Spokane Police offering free vehicle clubs to Kia and Hyundai owners amid rising theft rates

The free clubs are part of a grant from the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police is offering free vehicle clubs to Kia and Hyundai owners as part of a grant from the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority. Police say the club is an effective deterrent that attaches to the steering wheel.

In the last several weeks, there has been another increase in thefts involving Kia’s and Hyundai’s.

In 2023, Spokane Police and Spokane County Sheriff’s formed a task force to combat the theft and vandalism of Kia’s and Hyundai’s. The task force is actively investigating the thefts and is still recommending owners contact their respective dealers to see if any modifications to lower the risk of theft can be made.
