Lewis and Clark HS student throws out ammo during lunch

District Spokesman Brian Coddington said the student had left the ammunition in their backpack after a hunting trip over the weekend.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Public School leaders notified parents after a student at Lewis and Clark High School disposed of ammunition in a trash can during lunch Tuesday.

District Spokesman Brian Coddington said the student had left the ammunition in their backpack after a hunting trip over the weekend. He said another student saw the ammunition and shared a photo of it on social media.

Coddington said staff became aware of the photo and while they were talking to the student who took it, the student who threw it away came forward. The student said he found the ammunition while he was getting his lunch from his backpack.
