The contest is to update logos for fish transportation tanks.

BOISE, Idaho — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Lower Snake River Compensation Plan wants local K-12 kids to enter an artwork contest for updating logos on salmon fish transportation tanks.

Every year 12 million salmon and steelhead smolts are released into the Lower Snake River, but they can't swim there, they are transported in big tanks. The winners of the contest will have their art on the fish tanks.

  • Portray a Pacific salmon or steelhead for the future!

  • Must be original student artwork
  • Artwork will be judged in 4 categories: K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12 grade levels
  • Best of Show will be digitized for the next school of fish on the fish transport trucks
