No officers were injured in an officer involved shooting that happened in Soap Lake on Sunday.

SOAP LAKE, Wash. — No officers were injured in an officer involved shooting that happened in Soap Lake on Sunday.

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened at the 100 block of Adrian Avenue. The suspect was shot in the lower leg and was transported to Samaritan Hospital for medical care. He was later released from the hospital and was lodged in the Grant County Jail for an investigation of first-degree assault.

Authorities are still investigating the case.

The officers involved in the incident were placed on administrative leave with pay, which is standard procedure after a critical use-of-force incident, officials said.
