Moses Lake officer shot during domestic violence call

A Moses Lake officer and suspect were both shot after exchanging gunfire during a call on Saturday night.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A Moses Lake police officer is recovering after they were shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call on Saturday night. A suspect was also shot.

Police say they were called to the Motel 6 in Moses Lake around 8:20 p.m. on May 4, according to a post on Facebook.

Shortly after officers arrived, police and a suspect shot at each other. One Moses Lake officer was shot along with a suspect. The officer underwent surgery and is recovering. The suspect was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

At this time, police have not said how many Moses Lake officers fired their weapons or if the suspect has been arrested or charged.

The Central Basin Investigative Team has taken over the investigation.
