MOSCOW, Idaho — Moscow Mayor Art Bettge announced that he will appoint Capt. Anthony Dahlinger as the next chief of police.
The mayor will make the appointment at the next Moscow City Council meeting on April 1 and will be made effective May 1 following Chief James Fry's retirement on April 30.
Dahlinger has been with the Moscow Police Department for more than 12 years, with 17 years of experience in law enforcement. During his time with the department, he's served as a patrol officer, patrol corporal, patrol sergeant captain and public information officer. In addition to his service with the police department, Dahlinger is also on the Board of the Latah Recovery Center.
“Anthony has demonstrated his skill and commitment to serving our community and I am confident that he is the right choice to lead the Moscow Police Department,” Mayor Bettge said. “Under Chief Fry’s leadership, we have developed exceptional personnel and leadership within the Department and Anthony is an example of that investment. I know Anthony is committed to our community policing philosophy and will ensure that the Department continues to serve the City of Moscow with the professionalism and expertise our community expects and deserves.”
