SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in Hillyard.
The shooting happened around 7:00 p.m. Friday near the intersection of East Decatur Avenue and North Market Street, near the Hillyard skatepark.
Police said one victim was taken to Holy Family Hospital for treatment, before responders arrived. The person is stable, according to police.
Officers on scene said at least two shots were fired. They don't have a suspect in custody. Officials said everyone involved fled the scene before they arrived.
An involved vehicle was found, but nobody was in it.
Preliminary information is that the shooting occurred following a dispute between two groups of people, per SPD.
Police do not believe there is an outstanding threat to the public.
