Man accused of killing Cheney pot shop employee indicted for another murder

Donovan Culps and George Skyhawk Thompson were both indicted in April for first degree murder and aiding and abetting. Court documents said the two killed Neil Cloud, 20, by stabbing him with a knife sometime between June 7 and August 29, 2017.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The man accused of shooting a pot shop employee in Cheney back in October 2017 has been indicted on another murder.

Donovan Culps and George Skyhawk Thompson were both indicted in April for first degree murder and aiding and abetting.

According to court documents related to the Cheney murder, Culps was interviewed by a Cheney Police detective and FBI agent. The FBI agent had asked Culps about an unrelated case where a person had not been seen in the area for two months. Court documents said Culps hung his head and said, “I killed him.”

Court documents said the two killed Neil Cloud, 20, by stabbing him with a knife sometime between June 7 and August 29, 2017.

Culps is also suspected of killing Cameron Smith, a pot shop employee at Lucid in Cheney.

The Yakima County Coroner said Neil’s body was discovered on Towtnuk Road in the Medicine Valley area of White Swan on September 18, 2017. The coroner said his body was in advanced stages of decomposition and they were unable to quickly identify him. They sent tissue to the FBI crime lab to help identify him. The coroner said he was stabbed and he bled out.

Court documents said Cloud was also involved in the murder of a woman before his death sometime in March 2016. George Skyler Cloud, Nicole Lee Sunny Cloud and Kristen Ashlie Cloud were indicted in connection to the murder. George was indicted for first degree murder and aiding and abetting, and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence and aiding and abetting.

Nicole and Kristen were indicted for accessory after the fact. Court documents said the women knew George and Neil had committed the murder and assisted them.

It is unclear if the murder Neil was involved in had anything to do with his death.

Culps is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $1,050,000 bond. Thompson is being held in the Yakima County Jail with no bond.

Kristen and Nicole Cloud are also being held in the Yakima County Jail without bond.

It is unclear where George Cloud is being held or what his bond is.
