Idaho Department of Corrections searching for inmate who walked away from worksite

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC) is currently searching for an inmate who walked away from a worksite in Idaho Falls.

Forty-eight-year-old Daniel Eugene Palmer was reportedly last seen at the jobsite on Wednesday around 8 a.m. The IDOC describes him as 6'1'', 225 pounds with green eyes and brown hair. He was reportedly wearing a dark blue button-up shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.

Officials also said Palmer may be driving a stolen black 2010 Honda Accord. His criminal record includes possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and eluding police from Kootenai County. He was eligible for Parole in September 2022 and his sentence was to be discharged in January 2025.

The IDOC said anyone with knowledge on Palmer's whereabouts should call 911.
