SPOKANE, Wash. — Officers with the Spokane Police Department have arrested a woman for murder after she allegedly hit and killed a man with his own car in the area of West Sunset Frontage Road and South Grove Road.

According to police, the incident occurred on April 9 around 7: 15 p.m. Officers responded to the area to find a man dead on the side of the road who appeared to have been hit by a car. Shortly after, a number of witnesses reported a truck driving erratically nearby on Highway 2 in Airway Heights.

Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies were alerted to the same truck before they pursued and arrested 27-year-old Alyssa K. Bray. She was arrested for DUI and attempting to elude police.

Through further investigation, law enforcement learned that Bray was walking on Sunset Highway before she accepted a ride in the truck with the victim later identified as 70-year-old Gerald R. Fox. Shortly after, Bray carjacked Fox's truck before running him over. Detectives traveled to Lincoln County and arrested Bray for first-degree murder. She is currently booked in the Spokane County Jail.
