USPS ‘Mega Blitz’ hiring job fair happening on Sept. 29- 30

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is hiring 2,000 mail carriers, mail handlers and clerks. Positions offer staring pay from $18.92 to $21.19 per hour.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will host a two-day job fair hiring at 103 postal facilities across Washington on Sept. 29 and 30. 

The two-day hiring “Mega Blitz” is trying to hire 2,000 mail carriers, mail handlers and clerks in six USPS facilities including Colville, Greenacres, Pullman, Shadle Garland, the Spokane Mail Processing Facility and Veradale.

“As outlined in our USPS Delivering for America plan, we’re modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers,” said Alexis Delgado, USPS human resources manager. “In order to do that, we need motivated, dedicated people to join us to deliver for our local communities and our nation."

The 2,000 available postal positions offer starting pay from $18.92 to $21.19 per hour, and applicants must be 18 years old at the time of appointment or 16 years old with a high school diploma.

Other requirements include the following: 

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. Territory.
  • Must provide recent employment history.
  • Must have a safe driving record (if applicable to the position).

"We invite interested applicants to attend one of our job fairs if they want to join our winning team. If they’re looking for meaningful careers, and not just another job, we want them to join us!” Delgado said in a statement.
