Stay-at-home moms brace for Spokane winter

Any Spokane area parent with small kids knows life becomes rough when it's too cold to play outside and the Christmas cheer fades away.

Brace yourselves.

Winter is coming.

And no, I’m not talking about Game of Thrones.

What I am referencing is equally as daunting and difficult. It’s the winter season which forces all stay-at-home moms to step up their game.

Besides being miserably cold, this is the time of year mom’s fear going stir-crazy. Cabin fever is a real fear.

Sure, the Greenbluff adventures and autumn chill start out great.

But any parent with small kids knows life becomes rough when it’s too cold to play outside and the Christmas cheer fades away.

A Stay-at-Home Mom’s Calendar:

November: Fall is beautiful and Christmas is coming. My life is a Hallmark movie.

December: We’ve watched a lot Netflix, visited Mobius weekly and our crafting is on-point. Christmas is coming so the snow is a magnificent reminder of the season. We are blessed.

January: It’s cold. The kids are growing bored. Beware.

February: Netflix is played out, everyone has the flu and I think I saw a snowflake. Also I’ve googled “Seasonal Affective Disorder” about ten times.

March: Start researching home prices in Palm Springs, California. It’s time for change.

If this calendar looks remotely familiar, you’re not alone. You’re just a mom.

It only feels like you’re alone because it’s too cold to venture outside and visit the other moms.
