In our American culture It’s a Wonderful Life has become almost as familiar as Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The story is a natural for a stage adaptation: the saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls,whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty, whose guardian angel has to descend on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him—by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born—that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.
Christmas Tree Elegance

Historic Davenport Hotel & River Park Square
This event has become a holiday tradition in Spokane. More than 100,000 people visit the trees at the Historic Davenport and River Park Square. Try your luck at winning one of them. Raffle tickets are a dollar and the 18 trees are each filled with prizes of up to $5,000. The fundraiser always brings in $250,000 for the Spokane Symphony. Even if you don’t buy raffle tickets, it’s worth it just to wander through and have a hot chocolate in the Palm Court.

The State Street Ballet teams up with the Spokane Symphony to bring this holiday classic alive. Clara and the Nutcracker Prince go on an adventure in Tchaikovsky’s beloved holiday score.
