SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane's own Riverfront Park is apart of the recently released USA Today poll of the 20 Best Riverwalks across the United States.
Created in the 1970s, Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane has evolved into one of the most iconic places in the Lilac City.
Riverfront has transformed into a staple for events and group gatherings such as Hoopfest, Bloomsday, Pig Out in the Park, and a variety of concerts.
USA Today determined the top 20, saying, "Strolling along any of these 20 riverwalks — nominated by an expert panel as the best in the country — offers an experience that combines the serenity of nature with the liveliness of city life."
Readers can vote for their favorite place until April 8. From there, it will narrow to the top 10 riverwalks. Voters can vote as many times as they want until the April deadline, but readers can only vote once a day. To vote, click here.
The top 10 winners will be announced on April 17.
