SPOKANE, Wash. — The indie feature film "DARUMA," shot partially in Spokane and Western Idaho, will be featured at the 2024 Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF).

According to the films writer and producer, Kelli McNeil-Yellen, "DARUMA" is a "love letter" to the Inland Northwest region and features an almost all Spokane crew.

"It's a completely indie film that stars two leads with disabilities in a narrative not about overcoming disability," McNeil-Yellen said. "Two-time Oscar winner Peter Farrelly just signed on to executive produce as well and our lead John Lawson just won best actor at the Slamdance Film Festival. The film was named BEST OF at Slamdance and has been covered on CNN and multiple news outlets."

The film will be screening on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Magic Lantern Theatre.
