SPOKANE, Wash. — Nothing says summertime in Spokane quite like a farmer's market, and this year, the city is getting one early.

The South Perry Farmers Market will open for the season on Thursday, May 2 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Grant Park. This year's market will bring 64 local farmers and makers with live music and free kids activities to the South Perry Neighborhood. The market will be open for business every Thursday from 3-7 p.m. through the month of October.

Officials at Thursday Market reminded residents that this year's market should not be confused with the South Perry Street Fair, which was canceled earlier this year.

"There has been lots of confusion and concern that the Farmers Market was canceled this year, but fear not!" said Karyna Goldsmith, the executive director of Thursday Market. "We are back and better than ever."
