SPOKANE, Wash. – The company that owns and operates Spokane’s Davenport Hotels is purchasing the Hotel Red Lion Spokane at the Park.

The ownership is effective Tuesday, July 17. Worthy Hotels Inc. purchased the building for an undisclosed price and is rebranding it as an independent hotel called Centennial Hotel Spokane.

RLH Corporation confirmed in a news release Tuesday it sold the Hotel R-L in downtown Spokane for $35 million to Worthy Hotels Inc.

The building located in downtown Spokane has 401 rooms, a restaurant and lounge, 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and a pool.

This area of Spokane is seeing quite a bit of growth and change. There is Kendall Yards, renovations to Riverfront Park and even the Spokane Sports Complex. Director of Sales and Marketing Matt Jensen said they are excited to be a part of this growth with their new hotel purchase.

"We have always had an interest in it once we learn it was for sale and then we learned the Sportplex was coming in just across the street, we feel like the location here is fantastic," he said.

He said there will be touches of the Davenport in the new hotel. They might even sell their famous peanut brittle.

Other than that Jensen said the hotel will remain mostly the same, while making sure the last bit of renovations there are completed. The only change visitors may notice is parking. A parking attendant will now greet you to ensure parking at the Centennial Hotel is reserved for hotel guests only.

Jensen said they will be keeping the staff already working at the hotel, but said they have room to hire more. In fact, they will be hosting a job fair August 7 from noon to 7:00 p.m at the Centennial Hotel. Just bring a resume and fill out an application on site.
