Early road games. Primetime in Seattle. A trip to London. And the return of Sherm.
The Seahawks 2018 schedule came out Thursday, with the NFL releasing its full slate of games.
The first standout was the challenge ahead of the Hawks as they venture away from Seattle in September. Pete Carroll's team opens the year with a Super Bowl rematch in Denver. They follow that up with a trip to Chicago, followed two weeks later by a their first division test against Arizona.
One surprise was the number of primetime games ahead of the Hawks. There are five of them, and for the first time ever Seattle will play four at CenturyLynk. The first comes Week 2 against the Bears on Monday night. The others come in the back half of the season: Week 11 they have a Thursday test against Green Bay, two weeks later they host the 49ers on Monday night, Week 14 they've got the Vikings on Monday night, then Week 16 it's a Sunday night date with the Chiefs in Seattle.
One major storyline will be the ramped up rivalry with San Francisco, now that Richard Sherman is playing for Seattle's NFC West foe. The Pro Bowl corner will be welcomed back by 12s Week 13. Seattle will head to the Bay Area Week 15.
The most interesting game had already been announced. Seattle goes to London Week 6 to face the Raiders. That game will kick off at 10 a.m. The Hawks will have a bye the following week.
