Time to hit the links: Spokane golf courses continuing to open this month

It's a sure sign of the start of the spring season: two public Spokane golf courses are set to open this week.

SPOKANE, Wash. – It’s a sure sign of the start of the spring season: Spokane public golf courses are opening.

The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course opened on Wednesday, Mar. 21 at 9 a.m., according to the Spokane Parks and Recreation Twitter page.

Spokane Parks and Rec said Downriver Golf Course and the Esmeralda Golf Course also opened on Thursday, Mar. 15. Indian Canyon opened its practice range two days later.

The Downriver Golf Course is located at 3225 North Columbia Circle in Northwest Spokane. The course is celebrating 100 years, making it the oldest course in Spokane. It is a par 71 course nestled along the Spokane River and Riverside State Park.

The Esmeralda Golf Course is located in Northeast Spokane at 3933 East Courtland Avenue. The city of Spokane says the course is lined with more than 2,000 trees and is a great course for all skill levels.
