Plummer-Worley School District teacher arrested for sexual exploitation of a child

Sharrett said that because the arrest involved a criminal matter and a personnel matter she was not at liberty to give any more information on the case.

PLUMMER, Idaho — A Plummer-Worley school district teacher was taken into custody by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office on charges related to sexual exploitation of a child.

Detective Dennis Stinebaugh with KCSO confirmed 35-year-old Jeremy R. Campbell was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a child.

Superintendent Judi Sharrett confirmed Campbell was an employee of the district.

According to court documents the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a search warrant for the current residence Campbell lives at in Coeur d'Alene. That address is located across the street from an elementary school.

Campbell is also an eighth grade teacher at Lakeside Middle School in Plummer.

According to court documents, the Idaho Internet crimes against children task force obtained 34 images and 28 videos of child pornography from Campbell's computer. He is charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Prosecutors requested setting Campbell's bond at $350,000, arguing he is a risk. The judge granted the request, setting his bond at $350,000.

Campbell requested a lawyer when investigators stared to explain the process of the search warrant and advised him child pornography had been discovered.

The judge explained the max penalty for each count is 10 years in the Idaho penitentiary plus a $10,000 fine.

On Thursday, Sharrett sent a letter home to parents and guardians that said Campbell was taken into custody by police pending further investigation.
