CDA woman makes bomb threat, takes deputies on high speed chase

HAYDEN, Idaho—A 56-year-old Coeur d’Alene woman was arrested Thursday after making a bomb threat to the Kootenai County Courthouse.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office reports said Misty Mason called the court house and made a bomb threat and then took deputies on a high-speed chase down Highway 95 in Hayden.

KCSO authorities said during the car chase, Mason reached speeds to up to 108 miles-per-hour. Deputies used a spike strip disable her vehicle safely.

Mason initially ignored verbal commands, but was finally taken into custody without incident. A bomb detection dog was utilized on the vehicle and no explosives were located, according to KCSO officials.

Kootenai County officials said bailiffs from the courthouse quickly checked the area for bombs, but did not find anything.
