Police searching for CDA bank robbery suspect

Parents and guardians have received texts and emails.

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Coeur d’Alene police are searching for a man suspected of robbing an STCU bank on North Ramsey Road.

STCU representatives said the location was robbed around 9:45 a.m. The bank is now closed while police investigate. No one was injured.

“We are grateful no one was injured,” said Barb Richey, a spokeswoman for the credit union in a release. “Our Crossroads team handled the incident calmly and professionally.”

The bank is expected to reopen on Tuesday morning.

STCU officials said the FBI is investigating the incident, and provided photos of the suspect. Officials said the suspect entered the bank and a gave a teller a note demanding money. The man got the cash and quickly fled the area. He was last seen running northeast across the Winco parking lot.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI's Coeur d'Alene office at 208-665-4455.

CDAPD said the suspect is described as a 20-30 year old white male, about 5'09" with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a blue jacket, blue pants, a gray scarf and dark colored beanie hat.

Police lifted a "shelter in place" at Ramsey, Skyway and Woodland schools following the robbery.
