The Seattle Seahawks make one of the more surprising picks in the first round selecting running back Rashaad Penny out of San Diego State with the No. 27 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Last year in college football, there was no one more productive at running back than Penny. The former Aztecs tailback rushed for 2,248 yards, which led the nation. He also added 23 rushing touchdowns with two receiving touchdowns.

Penny finished his college career with 3,656 rushing yards, 38 rushing touchdowns and seven kick returns for a score.

The Seahawks entered the night with the No. 18 pick in the NFL Draft, but after trading that selection, along with a 7th round pick, to Green Bay for a 3rd and 6th rounder, the Seahawks moved to No. 27 in the draft.

Seattle has eight picks left and only one more selection in the first three rounds.
