SPOKANE, Wash. – The owner of Jones Radiator said a painting titled "Unveiled," was stolen from the bar on E Sprague Ave early in the morning on March 19.
The painting was done by a local artist named Shana Smith, who said it is valued at $1200. Jones Radiator frequently features local artists and their work as part of Spokane’s First Friday events.
Smith described the painting as a 4x2 feet and mixed media of graphite, pastel, oil paint and acrylic. She told KREM 2 News that she was hoping to use the piece as a base for a future series of emotionally invoked pieces since it was an emotional piece for her to create.
The bar has surveillance video of the painting being stolen.
The owner of the bar said he believes the painting was stolen by a member of a musical group who had played at Jones Radiator that same night.
Smith said the painting is one of a kind and she hopes that whoever stole it, returns it. She also said if it is returned, no questions will be asked.
