Temperatures are forecast to hit 60 degrees around the first day of Spring this week.

Between February 3 and March 14, the temperature never rose above 40 degrees.

Spokane's forecast high temperature is easily in the 60s for the first day of spring on Wednesday, March 20.

The last time Spokane hit 60° was October 23, 2018, 146 days ago. In Lewiston, it was last 60° on Nov. 2.

The Spring Equinox, when the Earth is neither tilted towards or away from the sun in orbit, occurs at 2:58 p.m. on Wednesday. The average high temperature in Spokane is 50° on that day.

The warmer than average temperatures by about 5 to 15 degrees will be in place across the Inland Northwest for the rest of the month, save for a couple of days when it may rain.
