SPOKANE, Wash. — No big surprise today with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees. Focus will be on the weekend weather with a good opportunity for rain, particularly Sunday morning.

A frontal system is pushing into Washington today with rain likely in Seattle at first, but when the wave of energy passes through the state, it looses a lot of initial steam. Thus Saturday is looking cloudy, but mainly dry with only a very low chance for rain showers.

Sunday, however, seeing the same weather system re-organize as produce a wave of rain spreading from southeast-to-northwest through the area. This will be a cold rain for everyone in the valleys, but some higher elevation locations will see snowfall with the snowline at about 4000 feet. Timing will mainly be Sunday a.m. hours, lingering into our northern viewing area into the afternoon.

Next week with see near average temperatures in the 50s with periodic rain chances, the best time frame for rain being Monday night.
