SPOKANE, Washington — Plenty of sunshine in this week's forecast, with 90 degree temperatures making a brief comeback in Spokane for Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.

For Monday we'll enjoy sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 80s locally, with some upper 80s to low 90s in the usually hot spots like Colville and Lewiston.

Tuesday will likely be the hottest day of the week, with light winds and sunshine we'll see highs warm up into the lower 90s in the Spokane area.

Weather becomes slightly more active on Wednesday with the approach of a cold front.  We'll see partly cloudy skies, but could see some passing showers late afternoon into early evening.  Winds will pick up late in the day with gusts up to 30 mph.  Behind the front temperatures will cool back down into the low to mid 80s with dry conditions as we head into the weekend.

How hot has the summer been so far?  Well, we've seen nine 90°+ days so far this year.  The average for a year is 19 days.  We might squeeze in another 90° day this week, but average highs by the end of the month will be down to 79° so those hot temperatures will be harder to come by.
