SPOKANE, Wash — The month of June skipped over most of our expected 70-degree temperatures and instead jumped to the well above-average range, with plenty of days of 80s and 90s.
Now, a cooler and showery weather pattern is making its way into our area ahead of the Summer Solstice on June 21.
High temperatures in mid to upper 70s are expected from Wednesday through the weekend. Overnight lows will also cool down to the upper 40s.
Showers and some thunderstorms are still going to be the case, as expected for late spring and early summer. Thursday seems to be a safe bet for some wet weather, along with both days of the weekend.
Fourteen of the first 17 days of June included above-average high temperatures.
Several days pushed south-central Washington near triple digits, with Richland capping out right at 100 degrees one June afternoon.
The warmest temperatures of the year in Spokane are expected around July and August.
