National Weather Service tracking 'strong' thunderstorms in Okanogan, Douglas, Boundary counties

The National Weather Service says 'strong' thunderstorms have been spotted on Doppler radar.

OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — The National Weather Service said that they are tracking strong thunderstorms in parts of Okanogan, Douglas and Boundary counties.

The thunderstorms are being tracked by Doppler radar and are in northeastern Douglas County, southeastern Okanogan County in Washington and east central Boundary County in Idaho.

According to the advisory, one storm is nine miles west of Nespelem and 20 miles southeast of Omak. The storm in Boundary County is eight miles northeast of Bonners Ferry.

The storm in Okanogan and Douglas counties could possibly bring nickel-sized hail, and "torrential rainfall," according to the NWS. 

The storm in Idaho could also bring "torrential rainfall" and penny-sized hail, according to the NWS.

Locations affected include Moyie Springs, Meadow Creek Campground and Meadow Creek in Idaho and Nespelem Community and Nespelem in Washington.
