SPOKANE, Wash. — Heavy rain and snow continue today across Washington and Idaho. We will see snow in high elevations and rain in lowlands. Wind gusts are picking up as the morning goes on and have a chance of breaking 40 miles-per-hour around noon. We'll see a brief break from wet weather for much of Wednesday before another round on Wednesday night into Thursday.

High temperatures today are about 15-20 degrees above average. They will cool down but continue to be above average for the remainder of the week until the weekend. Sunday shows the next solid chance for snow in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene Metro areas.
