SPOKANE, Wash. — Visibility has returned in Spokane after dense early morning fog made driving conditions hazardous on Tuesday.

Visibility was down to a quarter of a mile Tuesday morning. It has since increased to four miles, according to the National Weather Service.

Visibility was down to a quarter of a mile in the Spokane area, on I-90 toward Sprague, on Highway 2 toward Davenport and on US 395 toward Mead Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS warned drivers that roadways could have been icy due to freezing fog. Camera images from the Spokane area showed heavy frost on some roads where freezing fog was present Tuesday morning.

The NWS also recommends drivers use their headlights and leave plenty of room between themselves and other cars when out in freezing fog.
