STA offers alternative parking for Downtown Spokane

The program charges a monthly $40 fee and shuttles run all week.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Rather than driving around every morning looking for a place to park downtown, Spokane Transit is offering a program that will give you guaranteed parking.

Shuttle Park gives the option of leaving your car in the lot by Spokane Arena before being picked up by a designated shuttle to take you downtown.

“As Spokane continues to grow, parking continues to be one of the most talked-about things in downtown and this program is great,” explained STA Director of Communications Brandon Rapez-Betty. “It’s great because it frees up parking downtown but it’s also great because it gives people affordable options for parking.”

The program is designed to limit the daily hassle of traveling into the city. Instead of filling up parking meters day-in and day-out. You pay a monthly fee and secure a guaranteed spot.

The arena is a 15-minute walk into downtown and the shuttles include two routes for people who work late shifts.

“The trip is about five minutes from here into downtown. Just enough time to check your email, check your Facebook, close your eyes for a few more minutes before you get downtown.”

People that purchase shuttle park receive a bus pass for routes 11, 27, and 39 along with a mirror hanger to ensure tickets aren’t placed on your car.
