Spokane road crews prepare to hit the road for more snow

City spokesperson Marlene Feist said they have crews on 20 hours a day, seven days a week during snow season, which runs from Nov. 15 through March 15.

Spokane crews are gearing up for the upcoming snow.

City spokesperson Marlene Feist said they have crews on 20 hours a day, seven days a week during snow season, which runs from Nov. 15 through March 15. They will also add people to accommodate conditions so they can move to 24 hour operations, if needed.

Fiest said on Tuesday they with continue to have crews on their 20 hour a day winter shift. They will deice and sand before the snow hits. Crews will also deice and sand at the start of the snow and will plow when there’s enough snow to do so.

On Sunday night, Feist said crews put down deicer and sand on arterials and hills before the snow hit. Deicers and sander were out in the early morning hours and throughout the morning. They also plowed in any areas with enough snow to plow.
