Southbound US 395 near Ritzville reopens after oil spill

According to Washington State Patrol, a semi truck rolled into a median and caused an oil spill on southbound US 395 near Ritzville just before 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The semi truck was carrying hydraulic oil and after the crash, the oil spilled onto the median and the roadway. The spill is 19 miles south of Ritzville.

The scene has officially been cleared, according to WSDOT East. The roadway officially reopened at 4 a.m. Friday.

All southbound lanes were closed and remained closed for about four hours.

Drivers took a detour via State Route 21 southbound to State Route 26 near Washtucna back east to US-395.
