SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane gas prices are averaging $3.61 per gallon, dropping six cents from a week ago, according to GasBuddy.com.
However, although prices are lower than last week, gas prices are more than 13 cents higher than a month ago.
The cheapest gas station in town was priced at $3.39 with the most expensive being $3.80.
Spokane has a higher average gas price than the lowest price in the state at $3.23. The highest gas price in Washington is $5.19 per gallon.
The national gas price average this week is $3.44 per gallon, which is more than four cents lower than last week's average national price. The national gas price is up more than 17 cents per gallon from a month ago.
"While the decline in both gasoline and diesel prices is terrific, it’s not unusual to see prices falling in February, which tends to be the month with some of the lowest gasoline prices of the year thanks to seasonally weak demand," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
GasBuddy officials said gas prices are low for now but drivers shouldn't expect the low prices to stay forever.
"For now, motorists should enjoy the decline, but be wary as we're likely to eventually see increases again down the road," DeHaan said.
