BOISE, Idaho — Mason Peatling had 28 points plus 14 rebounds as Eastern Washington got past Montana State 90-84 in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament on Thursday night.
The Eagles led by as many as 12 points in the second half, and then Montana State came storming back.
The Bobcats were able to tie the game at 81 with a Tyler Hall three with 1:31 remaining in regulation. But then Jessie Hunt hit a jumper to put the Eagles up for good as they closed out the win.
Cody Benzel added 22 points for the Eagles. Hunt had 18 points for Eastern Washington (15-17).
Keljin Blevins scored a career-high 27 points for the Bobcats (15-17). Hall added 20 points and seven rebounds. Harald Frey had 12 points.
The Eagles are on to the semifinals to play Southern Utah on Friday at 7 p.m.
